Our History

Deep Roots

Grace Fellowship COGOP has its roots in the vision of a young college student from Oxford, who desired to see her family saved. In the 1980s, Evangelist Constance Gee evangelized her family in the Antioch Community of Oxford, and through support with a Church of God of Prophecy pastor from Durham, Dr. Carl Waden, a new church was birthed.

Early Beginnings

Dr. Carl Waden became the first pastor of the local church, working diligently with Evangelist Gee to see souls saved in the community. The church, initially, held services in the home of Sis. Barbara Jean Hunter of Oxford, then moved to the chapel of the Oxford Orphanage.

Lyn Street

In February of 1993, the doors of the current structure, located at 4073 Lyn Street in Oxford, opened for service. Pastors serving the local church, following Dr. Waden included Bishop Leslie Hartsfield, Pastor Bennie Richardson and the current shepherd, Pastor Ethel Hunter. The present facility was built under the leadership of Bishop Leslie Hartsfield.
